Minneriya National Park

Minneriya National Park, located in central Sri Lanka, is famous for its large gathering of wild elephants. Covering an area of over 8,800 hectares, the park consists of a combination of scrubland, forests, and wetlands surrounding the beautiful Minneriya Tank.

The main attraction of Minneriya is the yearly Elephant Gathering, where hundreds of elephants come together near the tank during the dry season, creating an amazing wildlife display. Besides elephants, the park is also home to various wildlife species such as deer, sloth bears, leopards, and many types of birds.
